Most robots just waddle about on mechanical legs
or roll around on caterpillar tracks, but Alexander
was built with rockets so he can soar through the
sky! To be honest though, he hasn’t actually soared
much higher than three feet so far. He’s more of a
hoverer really. But he’s just being cautious. Flying
takes a lot of practice. If you do it wrong you can
give yourself a pretty nasty dent. He’ll be rocketing
through the clouds soon, but as everyone is always
telling him; you’ve got to hover before you can fly.
Busy, busy, busy! Svenja loves to keep herself busy. Busy
doing what? Well actually, no one is really sure. Some say
she’s writing another steamy romance novel, others are
sure she’s rounding-up missing shopping trolleys for the
local supermarket, but many are convinced she’s making
banana strudel for the entire forest. Whatever it is, it
certainly is keeping her very busy. Occasionally, when
Svenja isn’t busy doing whatever it is she’s doing, you can
find her in the park busily walking Blinky, her hover-pug.
Lucas admits he may have gotten a bit blubbery
over the winter, so he’s eating nothing but tiny
krill and swimming for miles everyday to get in
shape. It’s not that he’s vain, he just wants to look
good for his fans. Twirling, singing, spouting, Lucas
tries to put on a good show for the boatloads of
people that come out to watch him each summer,
and dancing around in front of a crowd like that
can make a whale quite self-conscious. He just
needs to lose five or six tons and then he’ll be
looking hot!
Nigel has a taste for the finer things. He’s a
connoisseur of all things floating in the ocean. He
can talk for hours about the wonderful chewiness
of a North Atlantic fisherman’s boot, or the foamy
crunchiness of an Australian surfboard. Nigel is also
a devoted fan of opera and considers himself to
be quite an exceptional singer. Fortunately for the
other animals in the forest, Nigel does most of
his singing underwater.
